Vattenfall chooses AI-native Process Intelligence from aiio

Process Intelligence for the energy industry: after Gasag and Windpunx, Vattenfall is choosing aiio too.

Berlin, 10 February 2026 – European energy group Vattenfall will be using aiio's Process Intelligence platform. The Magdeburg-based software company aiio provides its AI-native solution for optimizing processes in the energy industry.

In the energy sector, regulatory requirements, decarbonization targets and new business models are currently colliding. At the same time, processes and knowledge are often spread across different systems and departments — from specialist software to ERP systems to document management systems. Vattenfall is addressing this challenge with the aiio platform, which uses AI agents to extract process knowledge from existing sources and bring it together into end-to-end processes.

aiio's technology uses artificial intelligence to analyze existing documents, databases and system landscapes, and builds structured process models from them. This approach makes it possible to create transparency about cross-departmental workflows without having to fundamentally change existing IT infrastructure.

“The energy sector is going through a fundamental transformation,” says Jobst von Heintze, CMO of aiio GmbH. “Decentralized generation structures, volatile markets and shifting regulatory conditions call for new forms of process control. Companies need visibility into their end-to-end processes — quickly, and without years-long IT projects. That is exactly where AI-native Process Intelligence comes in.”

A growing presence in the energy sector

With Vattenfall, aiio extends its presence in the energy sector. Companies including GASAG, Windpunx, Schoenergie and EnCW already use the platform to analyze and improve processes in the energy industry. In a published success story with Windpunx, aiio shows how Process Intelligence helps accelerate business processes in practice.
